Whenever you are experiencing any
errors with MS Word(any version), exit Word, and do a search for the
file Normal.dot. (Click on Start, Find, Files and Folders. File
Name is Normal.dot, Scan the C: and all of its subfolders.) Once
the file is found rename or delete the file. Then restart Word.
This should resolve the errors. If you are still
experiencing errors, once again rename or delete Normal.dot and then
reinstall MS Office.
*Note: Renaming or
Deleting Normal.dot will restore Word's defaults to the original
settings. This includes document changes and menu changes.
