At times, you can get the issue, “err_name_not_resolved” while trying to browse a website. This error often occurs when Google Chrome cannot find the IP address that matches the website domain name you entered.

It may be that the DNS server cannot resolve the IP address of the domain name. This issue can frustrate you. However, these are some methods you can use to solve the issue.


1: Restart the router device

If you are using a WiFi router, you can restart it to boost your internet connection. This can be one of the reasons why the error “err_name_not_resolved” is showing.

Also, if you use a subscription, ensure it is still active – when your internet connection is disabled it can cause a lot of issues. Most routers normally have a dashboard, you can either disable it from your computer device using the specific router's specific IP address or switch off from the main power supply. After you are done, try to check whether your browser has started working again.


2: Delete browsing data, cookies, and cache

In this, you will need to delete all your browsing data, cookies, and cache.

Set the preferred DNS to 8.8.8.8 and the standby DNS to 8.8.4.4, and click “OK”.

Step 5: Remember to save the settings and see whether there will be a change.

Chrome browser normally predicts your browsing behavior to open the webpage faster. However, you will need to disable the preload option in the settings.

6: Turn off the security software

In this method, you will need to temporarily exit or uninstall the security software installed on your computer. In this case, you can turn off Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.

7: Virus Scanning

Trojan horse viruses may hijack your computer easily. This will make the hacker’s website to load when you open the specifically intended webpage.In this, you will need to run a full scan on Windows defender.

Step 1: Click on the Windows button + S. Search for the control panel in the search bar.

If the target website you are visiting is down, there is no way it will return information. You can enter the target website address in the command prompt panel to test. You can use the ping command to check.
