How to Clear Cache for One Site on Google Chrome

Google Chrome is one of the leading browsers in the world. Similar to other browsers, Google Chrome stores data in form of cache and cookies to enable fast access to websites. However, the stored data may conflict with websites and lead to website loading errors such as the 404 bad request error. Due to such issues, you may be required to clear the cookies and cached data on Google Chrome for a smooth run.  We are used to clearing the entire Google Chrome browsing history but here’s how to Clear Cache for one Site on Google Chrome.

Besides clearing the entire browsing data on Google Chrome, clearing cache data from a specific site is possible. You may get it done via the Padlock Menu in the Address bar or navigate through the Site Settings to delete the cache on one website. Clear Cache for One Site on Google Chrome on Phone

Below are procedures that you can use to clear the cache for a single site on Android and iOS devices.

1. Via the Padlock Menu  in the Address bar:

You can clear the cache for a single site via the Padlock menu in the device's address bar. Here's how:

Step 1: On your device, launch Google Chrome.

Step 2: Navigate to the Site where you want to clear its cached data.

Step 3: Tap on the Padlock icon in the address bar.

Step 4: Tap on Cookies.

Step 5: Tap on the Trash Bin icon and Confirm to delete the cached data and cookies of the specific website.

2. Via the Google Chrome Settings:

You can also clear the cache for a single site on Google Chrome via the settings menu via these steps:

Step 1: On your device, launch Google Chrome.

Step 2: Tap on the Three Dots Menu.

Step 3: Tap on Settings.

Step 4: Tap on All Sites.

Step 5: Search for the Specific website and open it.

Step 6: Tap on the Trash Binto to delete cached data.


Clear Cache for One Site on Google Chrome on Android device

If you are using the Chrome browser app on your Android device, follow these steps to clear the cache for a single site:

Using Chrome browser on your PC, you can clear cache data for a single site via the Search bar. Here is how to do it:

Step 1: On your computer, launch Google Chrome.

Step 2: Type “chrome://settings/ site data” in the Search bar. (This will directly take you to the All Cookies and Site Data page).

Step 4: At the top right, in the Search Cookies, Boxtype the Domain or Website Name for which you want to delete the cached data.

Step 5: Tap the Delete button to clear all the cached data for the specific website. (Or you may tap the Arrow icon to manually review the stored data and delete them as you want).


2. Via the Google Chrome Settings:

You can also clear cache data for a single site on Chrome via the settings menu. Follow these steps:

Besides the above two methods, you can also clear the cache for a single site via Chrome on your PC via the Padlock icon. Here are the steps to get that done:

Google Chrome allows users to alter the Site's permissions per the needed user functionality. The most commonly known permissions required to be granted or denied by the user on the Site are microphone access, camera access, location access, and notifications. The Padlock icon in the address bar lets you preview the required permission and toggle them On or off. To access the complete list of all permissions on the Site, you must navigate through the Site Settings. Follow the below procedure to reset a site's Permissions in Google Chrome:

Step 2: Tap on the Three Dots Menu.

Step 3: Tap on Site Settings. (On your computer, find it under the Security and Privacy Section.

Step 4: Search and open the Site you want to check permissions for.

Step 5: Click on Reset Allpermissions or manually select between “Ask (default), Allow, or Block” on individual permission.
